❅ A Christmas Season "Tag" ❅

This is a fun Christmas "Blogger Tag" that I was asked to participate in by my sister Alice over at My Golden Journey. It was started here, and it is a super fun way to get into the Christmas spirit! It's the most wonderful time of the year!

Do you celebrate Christmas?

Absolutely! Christmas is my favorite time of year, and it often comes out in my writing. I love searching for a Christmas tree, stringing lights, frosting sugar cookies, and playing Christmas carols. It is sometimes a challenge to remember what Christmas is all about, but every year I make an effort to slow down and be grateful for the gift of God's Son.

Do you celebrate any other festive holidays other than Christmas or in addition to?

Yes - Thanksgiving, Easter, Independence Day... really every holiday except Halloween. The Christmas season is the most important and memorable for me.

When it comes to weather, 70, 60, 50, 40, 30, 20, or 10 degrees?

I enjoy every season, but for Christmas, I prefer 20-30.I'm a North Dakota girl for sure, and I don't mind a little cold. (Unless my fingers freeze to the water hydrant while doing chores in the barn...)

Rain or snow?

There is nothing like a white Christmas! I would choose a blanket of fluffy white snow over rain any day!

On the perfect winter day, would you go shopping or stay home?

Stay home for sure! If it wasn't icy and below 0, I would spend the day playing with my horse, ice skating, or snuggled in the house gazing at Christmas lights and reading a book.

Trip to the mall or walk in the park?

A walk in the park - preferably a pasture or vacant field where I can find hidden wildflowers, mysterious little hollows, or big willow and flowering trees.

Favorite Christmas movie?

That's a hard one! I have enjoyed several, but I'll have to say The Nativity. My family has a lot of memories watching it on Christmas Eve.

Favorite Christmas tradition?

My first would be searching for a Christmas tree! Our family had never chosen a 'real' tree for Christmas until a few years ago. There was something so fun and old-fashioned about getting to run through rows of pine trees in search of the perfect one! Other than that, I really love stringing lights on the house... or anywhere else that looks good, for that matter.

Would you rather say, "Happy Holidays!" or "Merry Christmas!"

Definitely Merry Christmas. Christmas isn't just another holiday. It's the only one where we can really take time to be grateful for the gift of God's Son, and that's worth shouting to the world!

What does your Christmas morning look like?

Usually early. Our family is always together, and the house has a cozy, festive spirit that makes me smile just thinking about it. When I was younger, I used to wake up before the sunrise and run out into the living room to count how many presents I had! As I got older, I thought more about the gifts I was giving rather than getting - and now, I enjoy every aspect of Christmas enough to forget I even get gifts.

Favorite Christmas song/carol?

My favorite Christmas carol is either It Came Upon a Midnight Clear, The First Noel, or Do You See What I See? I also really enjoy the album Peace on Earth by Casting Crowns.

Hot Cocoa, Peppermint Tea, Peppermint Mocha, Peppermint Milkshake?

Most people don't know this - my family sure does - but I loooove peppermint! Literally anything peppermint makes me sigh in ecstasy! I'm sure I would love any of the above, but if I had to choose, I would go for Peppermint Tea or Mocha. ☺

Pass it on!
