A Note for the Heart // Tribulation

"These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." John 16:33

Being a Christian doesn't mean we won't have trouble.

It doesn't mean we have the perfect life. Jesus Himself declared that He came not to bring peace, but a sword. Being a follower of Christ means you will be hated. Others will see you and mock. Every day will be a battle against the world and temptation. Loving Jesus will cost you something.
Yet His love for us is greater than every loss.
In the world ye shall have tribulation. But be of good cheer! For He has overcome the world.

  3. wow I have't been on for a while! Can't believe what I missed! The book release, the reminder to read the Word of God and this comforting blog post!
You know we were just at the college for a debate between a Christian and an atheist. There were to my surprise a lot of atheists who seemed angry at God for allowing suffering and angry at Christians for "imposing" their beliefs. I haven't really had to face that before so this post was perfect timing! Jesus has already overcome the world!

  4. Thanks Anita! We need to keep our eyes on Jesus for sure! Praise God He lives in us to equip us to do so and to press on.
